Charlotte, NC | February 12, 2013 – Jackrabbit Technologies, leading provider of web-based solutions for youth sports & activities centers, was recently recognized as the 26th fastest-growing among companies owned or operated by University of Georgia alumni in The 2013 Bulldog 100: Fastest-Growing Bulldog Businesses. The Bulldog 100 honored entrepreneurial alumni in the fourth annual event hosted by the University of Georgia Alumni Association. This is the 3rd consecutive year that Jackrabbit has been ranked in the list.
Jackrabbit’s President and CoFounder Mark Mahoney, UGA class of 1983, was presented with an award at the Bulldog 100 celebration held January 26th in Atlanta.
“I’m very proud that Jackrabbit continues to exhibit growth worthy of recognition by this competitive group of entrepreneurs” said Mahoney. “Entrepreneurial energy is vital to our business ecosystem and I’m proud to see that fellow Bulldogs are as committed to fueling dreams with innovation as our team has been in keeping Jackrabbit at the forefront of our industry sector.”
To be considered for the program, an organization must have been in business for at least five years, had revenues of $100,000 or more for the calendar year 2009, and be owned or operated by a former UGA student who owns at least 50% of company or be the CEO, President or Managing Partner. The program recognizes the fastest-growing businesses regardless of size by focusing on a three-year growth rate average.
More than 700 nominations were submitted for this year’s program between January to September 2012. The class of 2013 includes companies ranging in all sizes and services, including agriculture, aircraft parts manufacturing, insurance, robotics, technology, healthcare, and industrial gases, to name a few. Several different areas of the country are represented, including companies from as far west as Utah and as far northeast as New Jersey.
Alumni Association Executive Director Deborah Dietzler said the Bulldog 100 celebrates the entrepreneurial spirit of UGA graduates. “The annual celebration is our most well-attended event of the year, as the unveiling of the rankings makes for an exciting evening,” Dietzler said.
The Atlanta CPA firm, Warren Averett + GH&I, a partner with the UGA Alumni Association since the inception of the program four years ago, verifies the information submitted by each nominated company and ranks them based on compounded annual growth rate.
