Meet Josh McKinney, Chief Operating Officer at Jackrabbit Technologies. Josh is an entrepreneur and SaaS leader who believes the best businesses are built by taking care of people—both the customers they serve and the teams who serve them. He brings an easygoing, collaborative style to leadership, paired with a strong drive to help organizations grow, improve, and succeed. With experience spanning entrepreneurship, operations, product strategy, and technology, Josh has a knack for looking at the big picture, asking the right questions, and turning ideas into practical action.
Josh joined Jackrabbit Technologies in 2026, bringing with him years of experience building and scaling software companies. What drew him to Jackrabbit went beyond the technology. As a dance dad, Josh understands firsthand the role youth activity organizations play in the lives of children and families. He also saw something special in Jackrabbit’s people, culture, and commitment to its clients. As COO, Josh works across the organization to strengthen operations, create opportunities for growth, and make sure Jackrabbit continues to evolve while staying focused on the people at the heart of the business—its employees and clients.
Prior to Jackrabbit, Josh spent more than a decade as a founder and operator in the SaaS industry. He co-founded Ekos, a business management software platform for craft beverage producers, and helped grow the company from an idea into a successful software business serving customers around the world. After ten years with Ekos, he transitioned into an advisory role and went on to co-found Craftline, an AI-powered procurement platform for beverage producers. Those experiences gave Josh a firsthand understanding of what it takes to build a company, serve customers well, develop strong teams, navigate change, and keep moving forward when growing a business gets complicated.
Josh attended Appalachian State University and has remained connected to the entrepreneurial and business community throughout his career. His professional recognition includes being named to the Charlotte Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 and Most Admired CEO lists. Outside of work, Josh is a proud dance dad who understands that behind every class, registration, payment, and business decision are real people. That perspective continues to shape the way he approaches leadership at Jackrabbit—with curiosity, optimism, and a determination to help the company, its employees, and its clients thrive.
