Charlotte, NC | September 4, 2013 – Jackrabbit Technologies, leading provider of online class management software for youth activities centers, has released its Point of Sale (POS) module that gives users an easy way to operate stores in their facilities. The POS module’s makes it possible for owners to quickly and easily sell products such as clothing, equipment and snacks. Even though POS is an integrated part of Jackrabbit, it doesn’t force the user to access family information just to sell a mom a t-shirt or to allow grandma to pay for recital costumes. Swipe and bar code scanning is integrated into Jackrabbit’s POS for clients who are using these technologies. The system also provides reporting of all POS activity – giving owners and managers important details of their sales trends and inventory.

Jackrabbit heard what customers were saying about adding Point of Sale functionality into the system and kept their new module very straight-forward so that check-outs using it are quick. The transactions don’t muttle in family accounts and therefore can be completed without clicking through several screens of account data. If customers want use their on-file credit card for payment when purchasing through the “store,” they can. But the beauty of it is that they don’t have to. Unique credit cards can be used in addition to checks and cash – making purchases easy for everyone – not just account owners.
“All we needed was something that handled one-off transactions. And that is basically what Jackrabbit has done. It is great Jackrabbit’s feature keeps the entire process out of the class information and family accounts. Most of the time, these transactions are totally unrelated to family accounts. It is more important for us to know how many of what items we’ve sold and have on the shelf,” notes John Kirk, co-owner of Little Otter Swim School and long-time Jackrabbit user. “We’ve used QuickBooks’ POS and it is limited to one computer. With Jackrabbit’s POS, it doesn’t matter which computer or how many computers we’re on when we use it.”

It is instantaneous as far as use goes because there is almost no learning curve – even our weekend people who aren’t very experienced with management software think it is easy. We have no errors,” adds Pam. “I just can’t explain in words how much this module has changed the way we run our open gym. Jackrabbit’s system is so much faster than our previous system that our check-in process is now quick and flawless. A line doesn’t even form in our lobby anymore. The number of screens we had to click through didn’t make sense for a single payment for a one-time class or a single item purchase.”
