Jackrabbit Technologies Helps Second Harvest Food Bank Reach Food Packing Goal
Charlotte, NC | May 28, 2019 – Jackrabbit Technologies, provider of class management cloud software for children’s activity centers, became a 2019 sponsor for Second Harvest Food Bank’s Sort-A-Rama. The event had an aggressive goal of packaging 200,000 pounds of dry beans and rice for agencies around the Metrolina area to use in feeding 167,000 families in need this summer.
Jackrabbit Technologies joined some of the area’s largest employers – Atrium Health, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Food Lion and TIAA as well as other leading businesses, Lending Tree, SalesForce’s MapAnything and Ferguson Box in sponsoring the 2019 event.
With 14 people, the Jackrabbit team packed 4,000 pounds of black beans in the 4-hour time span spent in an energized atmosphere on the huge Exhibit Hall C floor at the Charlotte Convention Center.
“Sort-A-Rama provides a great opportunity for our size company to work alongside team members from some of our region’s business giants. Our team of 14 worked with teams of 75 to more than 200 to help reach the 2019 Sort-A-Rama goal of packing 200,000 pounds of dried food product (brown rice, pinto beans and black beans),” said Jackrabbit CEO and co-founder Mark Mahoney.
“We hope we are an example to other small to medium size companies that these sponsorships, these events and this level of participation is not just for the big guys. This is important because it is up to us all – not just Atrium Health, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Food Lion and TIAA – to help in the fight against hunger in our own backyards.”
