Charlotte, NC – November 10, 2022 – Jackrabbit Technologies, the leader in providing cloud-based class management software to youth activity centers, spent a few hours on the morning of September 28 with teams from several other giving back focused companies to pack meal boxes for the Charlotte area’s hungry. Joining corporate giants such as Food Lion, Atrium, Equitable, TIAA, Armstrong, Crescent, Duke Energy, BCBSNC, and UNC Charlotte, Jackrabbit joined in the workday fun to reach the grand Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina Sort-A -Rama goal of 16 pallets (or 788 boxes) to provide meals to those in the Charlotte area struggling to feed themselves and their families. The 10 teams worked so efficiently – packing and palletizing all of the food items – that the event ended early.
“We’ve enjoyed sponsoring this event for the past three years and plan to continue our support of such a worthy cause. It is the perfect opportunity to see what we can do for our community when we band together as a team and with other companies,” notes Jackrabbit CEO and co-founder, Mark Mahoney. “We have a strong giving back component to our corporate culture. We are thrilled that Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina has structured this event so we can participate and contribute.”
Jackrabbit didn’t bring the largest team, but there was no lack of energy and excitement exhibited by its 20 members. To add to the team vibe, Jackrabbit unveiled its new “Giving Mode On” volunteer t-shirts as the event kicked off.
“Jackrabbit is a ‘giving’ company – whether it be to peers or to the community,” comments Human Resources Director, Tracey Chantry. “We’ve had such growth in staff over the past year, that obtaining more volunteer t-shirts was a need. And why not create new ones that combine our focus on giving back with our fun team attitude?”
Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina is one of three corporate community service partners for Jackrabbit Technologies. The two others are Rise Against Hunger and Ronald McDonald House of Greater Charlotte.
