Updates Position Jackrabbit Mascots for the Future
April 18, 2023 – CHARLOTTE, NC – Jackrabbit Technologies, the leader in providing cloud-based class management software to youth activity and child care centers, has unveiled a makeover for its iconic mascot. ‘Born’ in 2017, Jackrabbit’s mascot – Zippy – has entertained clients, prospective clients, and Jackrabbit employees with his exaggerated ears, head, and feet. Wherever he appears, a line forms for photos as those of all ages want their pictures made with the 10-foot tall mascot.
Large Network of Mascots is Implemented
The recent reveal day is one to remember since it is the first time Zippy has had a significant makeover since coming to life. Although he is wearing his blue suit and red tie, Zippy’s makeover presents a more modern and refreshed look.
The mascot in the blue suit – which you could call Jackrabbit’s corporate mascot – was newly designed along with the other 6 industry sector mascots.
Brand Makeover is Huge Undertaking
“New mascot implementation crosses many platforms, especially since more than just the corporate mascot has been updated. Mascots that represent the industry sectors where Jackrabbit software is used – Gymnastics, Dance, Swim, Cheer, Music, and Child Care – have also been rejuvenated. Updates are being made on websites, in-app, onboarding and training materials, HR resources, and every branded item in between. Every department is touched by these updates,” notes Jackrabbit’s Brand Team Senior Designer, Stephanie O’Brien.
The application of the mascot is the second phase of the branding project. The first phase was creating the new mascot graphic itself. The process took months of research, focus groups, sketches, and internal discussions to bring the new design from concept to reality.
Modernizing Brand Shows Position as a Leader
Jackrabbit’s mascot has enduring popularity – which led to questions for CEO Mark Mahoney about his reasons for taking on this huge rebranding endeavor. Mark responded that “It is just time. We need to modernize branding to maintain our leadership position as an innovator among cloud-based class management software and – in fact – across other SaaS and software products, in general.”
Jackrabbit’s mascot is the image of the company. The most recent makeover ensures a thoroughly modern mascot to transport Jackrabbit into 2024 – its 20th year in the business of creating software and providing it as a service to the youth activity center industry.
